An assessment is much more than simply collecting samples. It requires an in-depth inspection with moisture mapping and thermal imaging to understand the cause and source of the mold.
After the source is diagnosed, the inspector collects samples and prepares them for analysis. Then a final report is written with the type of mold found, source of mold growth, and step-by-step remediation instructions.
The report (called a protocol) is what is used to make an insurance claim or have the remediation done.
Unfortunately, no. Most assessors are just technicians that only collect samples and take them to a laboratory. They DO NOT perform detailed inspections to investigate the source of the mold nor identify damages in adjacent areas. Their reports are templates where they only change the name and address on the cover page.
At Air Doctors, our sampling is geared to your health concerns and each report is specifically written for your situation and the dynamics in your home. We also include detailed pictures indicating exactly which walls are affected and list the step-by-step process of what needs to occur to remove the mold. This is why our reports can be used for legal purposes or insurance claims.
